I’m in a Terrible Mood! Exhibition at BBK Kunstforum Düsseldorf

Together with my colleague Bettina Guckler, I am curating the exhibition “I’m in a Terrible Mood” at BBK Kunstforum Düsseldorf.

Currently accompanying many of us is a feeling shaped by social uncertainty, everyday overwhelm, and the sense that many things are becoming unstable. The exhibition is dedicated to this feeling. Bad mood is understood here not simply as a passing emotion, but as an expression of frustration, exhaustion, resistance, growing cynicism, social division, and inner tension.

The exhibited works by members of BBK Düsseldorf approach these experiences from different perspectives — personal, social, contradictory, and at times surprisingly humorous. Without attempting to provide solutions, they make visible what is often suppressed, glossed over, or softened.

The exhibition presents artistic positions from various fields of contemporary visual arts.
