A short story about travelling and other realities of life

Thomas Klingberg: “A little story about travelling.”

Kunstpunkte 2025: Painting, graphics and photography at studio KuDu in Düsseldorf-Flingern

The artist Bettina Guckler and documentary photographer Thomas Klingberg invite you to the art weekend ‘Kunstpunkte 2025’ in Düsseldorf at her studio KuDu at Hubbelrather Straße 2 in Düsseldorf-Flingern. The exhibition shows works of painting, graphic art and social documentary photography.

Bettina Guckler’s works deal with the relationship between humans and animals. Based on the world view of indigenous cultures, in which humans and animals are considered equal, she questions the usual hierarchy. Her works encourage us to think about how we treat nature and our fellow creatures – and about our responsibility to preserve habitats.

Photographer Thomas Klingberg presents a selection of his social documentary works. His images take us into urban interstices – to places that are often overlooked or deliberately ignored in everyday life. The focus is on people and their stories, which stand for social contrasts and contradictory realities of life. The photographs are an invitation to pause, take a closer look and dare to take a second glance.

The exhibition for Kunstpunkte 2025 presents two artistic positions that illuminate social perspectives in different ways.

About Kunstpunkte

The Kunstpunkte in Düsseldorf are a popular destination for art lovers and art connoisseurs. Every year since 1997, artists have opened their studios and project spaces to the public on two weekends in late summer. The format offers visitors the opportunity to gain a direct insight into the city’s diverse art scene and to talk to the artists in person. Works from a wide variety of fields are on display – from painting, photography and sculpture to installation, performance and media art.

The event is divided into two weekends: On the first weekend, studios in the southern part of Düsseldorf open their doors, on the second, those in the northern part of the city. Every year, over 300 artists take part, spread across the entire city, from well-known studios to small, hidden workshops.

The guided studio visits organised as part of Kunstpunkte are a special offer. They enable interested parties to discover selected studios in groups – accompanied by expert guides who provide additional insights into the artists’ working methods, themes and backgrounds. These guided tours are generally free of charge, but registration is recommended.

Kunstpunkte 2025 is taking place for the 29th time.
